Commission an Illustrated House Painting. My house portraits are all lovingly created in my studio at the bottom of the garden.
A painting of somebody’s house can make the most wonderful and unique gift or can offer a special sentimental keepsake. I have been commissioned to paint many different houses and buildings for different occasions. Some of these examples are shown In my gallery and include a 15th-century cottage, a farmhouse, a school, a large stately home, and even a beautiful villa on Mustique.
Each and every commission is produced with a high level of care and attention to detail. I paint using a mix of watercolour, gouache, and drawing pens. I paint on top-quality 100% cotton paper. My experience in painting Houses has led me to develop a technique using these materials to demonstrate the most effective and quality finished artwork.
I try to capture the true character of the building and architecture by using a subtle quirky style in my painting. The soft colours I use in my palette have an earthy and organic feel.
I like to include animals and pets, as I think they help to tell a story and are often part of the cherished memories of a home. I often paint in the season of choice but require clear photos of the garden or details of the house so I can be as accurate as possible. A winter snowy scene makes for a lovely Christmas gift.
I paint from photographs or can visit your house to take photos if you are local. Photos can be shared via Instagram, email, or sent via text message or WhatsApp.

A 50% deposit is invoiced to secure the commission and the balance is due on completion. All my paintings are supplied mounted and wrapped. Framing is available on request.
A winter scene can make perfect Christmas cards. Please state if you would like to have cards printed, as this requires me to paint at the exact size and format, in order for the cards to be produced. I require an extra fee of £30 to organize the production of the cards and the cost of the printing will depend on quantities.
Prices
My prices vary depending on the size and detail involved. Once I have seen the house I can quote accordingly. Sizes are approximate but I generally paint A3 size which includes a double mount.
Prices start from £375 (for A3) but I can paint at any size - anything is possible! Framing can be arranged on request.
